Volunteer Opportunity

Village Angels – Liverpool

This role is to support with a brand-new Village Angels programme based in Liverpool – to be part of the initial trial of the service and to help shape what that service looks like going forward. A Village Angels (Liverpool) volunteer will be asked to take part in shifts throughout the trial period and to be part of the community steering group to support the service in being as effective as possible.

The Village Angels provide support and assistance to vulnerable people on a weekend to maintain a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community. Village Angel volunteers and staff patrol nighttime areas each weekend from 9pm until 3.30am in their trademark hot pink high-vis. They provide all sorts of services, from directing people to a great club, to connecting those in need with the many channels of support offered by LGBT Foundation, to offering help in reporting hate crime or responding to mental health crises. Whether someone needs a plaster, a drink of water, or help getting home safely, the Village Angels aim to be there.

This is a volunteer role for the initial 2-month trial of the Liverpool service. The trial will begin on Saturday 7th February 2026 and will run until the end of March 2026.
