Join our 200+ volunteers and start helping us spread queer hope and joy!

From taking calls on our helpline to community gardening, from counselling to cafe support. Our volunteers are front and centre at everything we do at LGBT Foundation.

Putting our volunteers at our heart

Without our dedicated volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to deliver our life-affirming services which support and empower our communities.

With over 200 volunteers in roles across the organisation, our volunteers are essential members of our team. We strive for our volunteer team to reflect the diversity of LGBTQ+ communities and we want to help you find the right role for you.

Finding the perfect place for you

We believe that there’s a place for everyone in the LGBT Foundation family. That’s why we change up our opportunities for how you can get involved.

We are currently recruiting for a number of different roles. If you don’t see yourself in one of these roles, get in touch with us and we will chat through your options.

How our volunteers help us

Our volunteers are Helpline Call Takers, Village Angels, Counsellors, Advisory Panelists, Befrienders, Café Helpers, Gardeners, and Group Supporters to name a few things!

There really is a wealth of different things you can volunteer your time to help us with. Where do you see yourself? If you want to get in touch, we’re happy to chat to you.

How we can help you

There are loads of benefits to volunteering with us, but let us name just a few:

  • Develop your skills and meet new people
  • Help LGBTQ+ people
  • Regular social and well-being events
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Annual volunteer awards
  • A supportive and friendly staff team is available
  • Opportunity to celebrate with us at pride and events

We are experiencing technical difficulties with our online forms. The team are working on getting these up and running again. If you need support, please get in touch with our friendly helpline on 0345 3 30 30 30.
