CELEBRATING AND SUPPORTING OUR
LGBTQ+ OVER 50’S

Find out more about our Pride in Ageing programme in Greater Manchester and coming soon to Merseyside and Liverpool, which is funded by Barclays.

WHAT IS PRIDE IN AGEING?

Launched by Sir Ian McKellen and now running in Greater Manchester and Liverpool and Merseyside (from April 2025), our Pride in Ageing programme creates joyful, fun and empowering events and opportunities for LGBTQ+ over 50s all year round. The programme was established in 2019 to address concerns that too many lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people over the age of 50 are living in isolation and facing discrimination as a direct result of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

WHAT DO WE DO?

From campaigns and research to events and volunteering – Pride in Ageing’s activity is a year-round celebration of the age diversity within our LGBTQ+ communities. We’d love for you to get involved!

HOW DO WE DO IT?

An advisory group of 18 community members meets monthly and feeds directly into programme planning and design in Greater Manchester. This group also informs the services and support LGBT Foundation delivers as an organisation. As the programme expands to Liverpool and Merseyside in 2025 there will be more updates soon on opportunities to share your voice as part of the programme.
