At The LGBT Foundation, we offer a variety support groups and social events for LGBTQ+ individuals in recovery and help build meaningful connections within a safe, inclusive environment.
When: Every Tuesday at 6 pm
Where: The LGBT Foundation, 72 Sackville Street
What to Expect: “Here and Now” is a mutual aid support group tailored for LGBTQ+ individuals to come together and share experiences in a friendly, non-judgmental space. It’s an opportunity to receive feedback, offer support, and gain guidance from others who understand the unique challenges faced in recovery. This group fosters a community of support, connection, and resilience-building for all participants.
When: Every Thursday at 6 pm
Where: The LGBT Foundation, 72 Sackville Street
What to Expect: This cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) program offers a structured approach to self-management in recovery. Using simple, effective tools, SMART Recovery helps participants examine their motivations, cravings, and urges while building skills for relapse prevention. These techniques are not only useful in managing addictive behaviours but are also applicable to many areas of daily life. Join us for peer support in a welcoming space where you can strengthen your recovery and gain valuable insights for personal growth.

Where: Phoenix Mill, 20 Piercy St, Ancoats, Manchester M4 7HY
What to Expect: This lunchtime group is a supportive space specifically for LGBTQIA+ individuals, designed to help participants discuss recovery-related challenges openly and share experiences. Here, you’ll learn practical tools and techniques for managing cravings and urges, while connecting with others on similar journeys. This group is a safe and welcoming setting for support and self-discovery.
When: Last Wednesday of Every Month, 6 – 7:30 pm
Where: The LGBT Foundation, 72 Sackville Street
What to Expect: ChemSafe is a peer support group for individuals affected by crystal meth, GBL, or other substances commonly associated with chemsex. This group provides a non-judgmental, friendly environment where participants can share experiences, give and receive peer-led advice, and support each other in overcoming substance misuse. Together, we work on managing chemsex triggers, building resilience, and empowering each other to set and reach personal goals—whether that means achieving sober intimacy, finding harm reduction strategies, or other recovery paths. When: 2nd Wednesday of every month
Where: Location changes every month.
What to Expect: Get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and immerse yourself in nature with our monthly Wellbeing Walks. These group walks are designed to promote both physical and mental wellness, offering a chance to connect with others while exploring the outdoors. We’ll meet as a group and travel together to the walk’s starting point, where you’ll be able to enjoy uplifting conversations and a rejuvenating experience in a calming environment.
When: The last Friday of every month
Where: The LGBT Foundation, 72 Sackville Street
What to Expect: Our Sober Socials provide a relaxed, pressure-free environment for LGBTQ+ community members to meet new friends and forge connections without the presence of alcohol. Each event is designed to foster positive interactions, fun activities, and a sense of community. Join us for an evening of good company, engaging conversations, and supportive vibes in a warm, welcoming space.
When: Every Thursday, 6:00 – 7:30 pm
Where: Liverpool Central Library, L3 8EW
What to Expect: A mutual aid support group tailored for LGBTQ+ individuals to come together in a friendly, non-judgmental space, make new connections and take part in a range of well-being focussed activities designed to build confidence and resilience for all participants. This group is an opportunity to share experiences with like-minded individuals who understand the unique challenges faced by the community and fosters a meaningful network of support and connection in recovery.
