Pride in Practice is a quality assurance and social prescribing programme that strengthens and develops Primary Care Services’ relationships with their lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) patients. Pride in Practice enables practitioners to confidently and effectively meet the needs of their LGBT patients through training, accreditation awards, relevant signposting and increased awareness of the specific healthcare needs.

The Government Equalities Office have commissioned LGBT Foundation to pilot Pride in Practice in NHS GP practices, Dentists, Pharmacies and Optometrists across London. Pride in Practice will be piloted in:

  • North West Collaboration of CCGs (including Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster)
  • Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark CCG
  • Wandsworth CCG

Pride in Practice is endorsed by the Royal College of General Practitioners and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and evidences your commitment and compliance with the Equality Act 2010, the requirements of local Clinical Commissioning Groups, the Care Quality Commission and other regulatory bodies.
