The Derek Jarman Pocket Park project is a collaboration between Pride in Ageing at LGBT Foundation and Manchester Art Gallery which brings together a group of volunteer gardeners aged over 50 from LGBTQ+ communities in Greater Manchester. Volunteers taking part in this project are supported by LGBT Foundation to work as a team to maintain an urban garden.

No previous gardening knowledge is required, although this role is suited to people with a passion for LGBTQ+ art history and garden maintenance. Volunteers must be aged over 50 and live in the Greater Manchester region.

We particularly welcome applicants who identify as a woman, a person of colour, trans and non-binary, disabled and/or as a person of faith as they are currently underrepresented in our garden volunteer team.
