Drop-in to Pride in Ageing’s Derek Jarman Pocket Park at Manchester Art Gallery for a Pride Sunday of relaxed and creative activities for all ages.
From 11am-3pm there will be sketchbooks and pencils available outside for visitors to enjoy sketching in the Derek Jarman Pocket Park or around the gallery and you can chat to our volunteers about their roles and the development of the pocket park, or even join in some gardening!
At 12pm join the Manchester Art Gallery Visitor Team for a special LGBTQ+ tour of the collections (this tour will also be repeated at 12pm on Saturday 23rd August).
From 12.30pm we’re delighted to welcome Cora player, Holly Marland who will provide live music and Emma Bayliss from Shared Harmonies, an award winning not for profit, creating supportive and inclusive communities where people can connect and improve their physical and mental wellbeing through the power of singing. Holly and Emma will lead a workshop for people who may not even believe they can sing! No previous experience required – just come along to the gallery atrium on the ground floor and enjoy learning simple harmony songs for enjoyment and wellbeing.
Come and relax in our urban oasis at the front of the gallery. No ticket is required for any of the events – just drop in on the day.
