To kick off Manchester Pride weekend, LGBT Foundation are hosting a vibrant evening of performances at SEESAW on Thursday 21st August at 7:00pm, showcasing the brilliant talents and passions of LGBTQ+ women.
The line-up of incredible artists will shine on stage and represent the powerful, creative, and joyful energy of the community. From headliners Run Remedy and Lesbian Boyband Choir to local poets, comedians, singers, and more – expect performances that make you dance, laugh, and leave you inspired.
Event Programme:
Sophie Ray – Dancing / Singing
When Sophie and Tilda had not long met, they found themselves in a cafe with a piano. Once they had finished, Tilda explained the origin of the song. This is what they’ve come up with…
Pauline Smith – Poet
Pauline is a mature trans woman who came out in Holland in the late 1990s and she rediscovered her gift for poetry when she was 70
Robyn G – Singing
Robyn Gair is a singer-songwriter from Sheffield. Their compositions are satirical, charming, and catchy. Audiences know them for their campy costumes and extensive vocal range
Janoma – Poet
Janoma is a Nigerian spoken word artist whose work explores queerness, young adulthood and migrations. Expect gentle sapphic yearning and a lot of existential crises.
Shimi – Dancing
Representing and uplifting the Pakistani LGBTQ+ community, this dynamic performer brings bold energy, powerful visibility, and cultural pride to every stage. Fresh from performing with TRT Club for Trans Pride, they’re here to celebrate identity, resistance, and joy.
Lesbian Boy Band Choir – Singing (Headliner)
The Lesbian Boyband Choir is a group of lesbians and “lesbian-adjacent” folk who rehearse in Manchester and specialise in boyband bangers. Known for their harmonies, high energy, and all about having a good time ball.
INTERVAL
Randaa – Cabaret
Rangda, goddess of witchcraft and demons exalts us with her presence, and she manifests as a one-woman powerhouse. A plus size pocket rocket.
Lee D – Poet
Lee Jaime, a 23-year-old and proud Mancunian, uses poetry as a form of escapism, to paint stories about being queer, living in a city, and relationships of all kinds!
Binx / Untitled Women – Singing
Untitled Woman hails from a small coal mining town. She failed all her exams at school and escaped to London to forge a successful hand to mouth career in theatre and film. Now an award winning, British Council supported writer/director and with degrees coming out of her ears, she turns her hand to music and lyrics, with “hypnotically dark” songs about love.
Samy R – Stand-up comedian
Samy has appeared on ‘Gentleman Jack Changed my Life’. Jokes are based on her life living with her complex 70 yr old mum, often feeling like she’d have more fun as a detainee in Styal Women’s Prison.
Run Remedy – Singing (Headliner)
Run Remedy is Robin Koob, an ex-evangelical violin nerd turned alt-indie sad girl with a sense of humour. Her heartfelt, catchy songs swerve from grief to giggles, covering religious trauma, secret crushes and awkward family dinners—shoegaze meets diary entry with a wink.
