Groups for women at LGBT Foundation
LGBT Foundation holds three pop-in groups specifically for women. We also host a monthly women's reading group. Our groups are open to anyone who self-identifies as a lesbian, bisexual or questioning woman some or all of the time. They are all held at LGBT Foundation’s Resource Centre, Number 5, Richmond Street, Manchester, M1 3HF.
For more information contact us on 0345 3 30 30 30 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We aim to make our groups accessible and welcoming to all. Our building is fully accessible for those with wheelchairs. If you require additional assistance to access a group (for example, a sign language interpreter) please contact us as we may be able to arrange this.
Bloomers is a relaxed social group for older lesbian and bisexual women.
It provides a valuable opportunity for older women to meet and socialise in a friendly non-scene environment. The group takes place in the day-time so it's easier to access for those who prefer not to come out at night.
Bloomers is open to anyone who self-identifies as a lesbian or bisexual woman some or all of the time. It's aimed at women aged 55+ but all ages are welcome to attend.
Bloomers takes place the first and third Tuesday of the month, 1-3pm.
Horizon (formally Carousel) is a relaxed social group for lesbian and bisexual women and for those who are questioning their sexual orientation.
It provides a valuable opportunity for women to come together, both in and away from the gay scene and take part in varied activities which are planned by the group themselves and range from quizzes and meals out to video evenings and discussions as well as a lot of laughs.
It takes place the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, 7.30pm - 9pm.
Group of young lesbian and bi women 18+ on autistic spectrum, meeting every first Saturday of every month ( to play board and card games) between 2.30-4pm.
Women's Reading Group
Women's Reading Group is a relaxed group for lesbian, bi and trans women to get together and discuss an LGBT-themed book.
The group is run by Monica Pearl, a lecturer in 20th Century American Literature at the University of Manchester and a keen reader.
The group will meet for an hour every month, and be a safe and fun space to talk about the chosen book, sharing experiences and thoughts with like minded people!
It takes place the first Tuesday of the month, 6.30pm - 7.30pm.
