Volunteering at Events

LGBT Foundation has a strong presence at many LGBT-focussed events such as Manchester Pride, IDAHOBIT, Sparkle, Sugar and Spice and World AIDS Day. We have a variety of roles at these events. These can include volunteering duties such as stewarding, taking part in the parade, fundraising, data entry, photography and lots more.

Here is where you will find up and coming events for you to take part in, so check this page regularly to see if there is anything you like!

World AIDS Day 2018

We are now recruiting fundraising volunteers to support LGBT Foundation, George House Trust and BHA for Equality around one of the biggest events in our calendar; World AIDS Day. Our volunteering opportunities will take place on Friday November 30th and on World AIDS Day itself: Saturday December 1st.

We are looking for support across the 2 days with street fundraising and awareness-raising. Fundraising shifts will be approximately 2 hours across various outdoor locations in Manchester City Centre. On Friday November 30th shifts will begin early (around 8am) and run until approximately 6pm, On Saturday December 1st shifts will begin at the same time but will run into the evening. The evening shifts will also include setting up and stewarding the Candlelit Vigil, selling candles and supporting with the procession. The evening shifts could finish as late as 10pm.

If you would like to support LGBT Foundation, George House Trust and BHA for Equality by fundraising on either Friday November 30th or Saturday December 1st, please email wad@lgbt.foundation with an expression of interest.
