As part of our second phase of supporting volunteers, we are expanding our available grants to you: through the Volunteer Wellbeing fund. This expansion is done to meet the growing mental health and wellbeing issues among our communities as lockdown continues.
We already know the impact the pandemic is having on our communities- causing uncertainty, anxiety and leaving people in financial hardship.
In these times of uncertainty, we want to ensure that everyone in Team LGBT Foundation has the support that they need. Through this fund, we are able to offer a number of small grants to support LGBT Foundation volunteers who find themselves experiencing higher levels of stress and/or isolation due to the impact of the Coronavirus. Grants will consist of a £50 voucher from either Amazon or Love2Shop, which covers a wide range of retailers to help people get resources to support their wellbeing .
If you were thinking about applying for the hardship fund, this has not closed, and applications based on hardship will still be considered as long as we have the wellbeing fund open also.
We are putting some criteria in place, to ensure this funding reaches those who need it most. You can find out more about the fund, and how to apply, below.
To qualify for the fund you must:
- Be an active, regular volunteer with LGBT Foundation
- Be living in the UK
- Be over 18 years of age
- Have less than £6,000 in savings.
- Not have been given a grant through this Hardship Fund before
How To Apply
We would advise that the fund is limited and each application will be assessed on its individual merit and need. We unfortunately cannot guarantee everyone will be accepted. The fund will remain open until 31st May 2020, unless the grant is exhausted prior to this point – we anticipate that this fund will be oversubscribed so early application is recommended.
Please allow 5-7 business days for a response. If you have any questions or need support on the application process, please contact 0345 3 30 30 30.
