ABOUT THE ROLE

LGBT Foundation is an impactful, vibrant charity with a wide portfolio of well-established services and rapidly developing new initiatives aimed at meeting the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans people.

The Fundraising & Marketing Team at LGBT Foundation is a small yet collaborative group of professionals. They are dedicated to advancing the visibility and impact of the UK’s leading health and wellbeing charity. The team is responsible for implementing wide-ranging fundraising, communication, and marketing strategies. By leveraging various channels such as email marketing, the organisation’s website, video, social media, OOH advertising and traditional media, the team strives to support the national visibility, brand awareness, impact storytelling and income generation of the charity by attracting, engaging and stewarding a growing supporter base.

LGBT Foundation’s Partnerships & Philanthropy Advisor will work with fundraising & marketing colleagues to deliver against strategic objectives and achieve in-year financial targets, significantly increasing income and support, specifically from corporates, individual giving (donations), legacies and fundraising events. In this role as a Partnerships & Philanthropy Advisor, corporate partnerships (attraction, engagement, and retention) will be a priority, ensuring members see the value in our offer.

You will also work with the Director of Fundraising & Marketing to shape four individual giving campaigns a year and two legacy awareness campaigns a year. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Marketing Manager to keep fundraising information on webpages and social channels active, ensuring regular promotion of charity challenges and shaping digital mobilisation efforts which will build the charity’s supporter base, attracting more new donors.

You will support regular reporting on performance towards financial targets, working closely with colleagues to reconcile income, ensure Salesforce records and reports are up-to-date and that integrations support automated data flows.

Role Accountabilities 

Account Management of Corporate Partners.

CORPORATE ENGAGEMENT: Coordinate the development, stewardship and growth of LGBT Foundation’s Corporate Membership Scheme and assigned corporate partnerships.

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT: Working with the Partnerships & Philanthropy Manager and Director of Fundraising & Marketing, ensure regular and quality contact with a range of corporates partners, to include both online and face-to-face communication along with newsletters, impact/monitoring reports, targeted mailing, release of toolkits, cards, etc.

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT: Utilise the Salesforce CRM and other relationship tools to enable effective account management and reporting.

PROSPECT RESEARCH: Identify brands, organisations and potential mid-level donors through prospect research, developing and cultivating relationships by demonstrating excellent stewardship by translating these into formal partnerships.

NETWORKING: Work alongside colleagues to represent LGBT Foundation at employee engagement sessions e.g. lunch and learn, talks and panel events.

ETHICAL FUNDRAISING: Ensure our Ethical Fundraising Policy is adhered to, undertaking due diligence to guide which corporates we engage with, tailoring corporate partnership agreements, and ensuring the ongoing review of renewing partnerships.

Individual Giving – Donor Scheme.

APPEAL PLANNING: Support and help develop LGBT Foundation’s Individual Giving stream of income, working with the Fundraising & Marketing team and service delivery teams to develop four powerful fundraising appeals each year, plus year-round prompts to become a regular donor.

FRIENDS SCHEME: Support the Director of Fundraising & Marketing to grow LGBT Foundation’s mid-level giving schemes, including the Friends scheme (up to £5k annual gifts) through a combination of attraction, engagement and retention methods, including London-based events.

PROSPECTING: Using internal and external insights to identify and approach potential mid-level donor prospects whose values are aligned with LGBT Foundation’s mission

EVALUATION: Adopting a learning approach to fundraising by using data-led insights and supporter feedback to review campaigns and appeals.

Charity Challenges & Fundraising Events

PROMOTION: Prompt and inform regular marketing of the charity challenges opportunities on offer amongst corporate partners, and collaborate with the team to d organise a cheer squad for London-based events

CORPORATE ENGAGEMENT: Work to engage corporates around key dates in order to engage in fundraising events through promoting opportunities such as: LGBT History Month, IDAHOBIT, and ‘Pride Season’

EVENT SUPPORT: Provide support to fundraising and marketing events such as the fundraising gala and challenge events in order to maximise donations

Other;

AWARENESS: Support with the development of legacy giving at LGBT Foundation, ensuring supporters know about our Free Wills Offer.

ENQUIRIES: Support those enquiring about legacy giving, and support the probate process for any legacies awarded.

DATA: Use relevant digital systems to ensure effective legacy administration and communication.

REPORTS: Provide information for quarterly FARG and Board Reports.
