We Need You: Pride in Practice Health Engagement Volunteer

LGBT Foundation’s Pride in Practice team are looking for a volunteer to help on a cervical screening project, contacting lesbian and bisexual women in Trafford about attending cervical screenings.
We have a great opportunity for a volunteer to get involved in Pride in Practice and support LGBT healthcare in Greater Manchester.
One of the GP practices we’re working with in Trafford have a high number of patients who are not responding to letters regarding cervical screening. As a large number of lesbian and bisexual women live in the area, the practice thinks there may be a link between people not attending and the misunderstanding that women who have sex with other women do not need screenings.
The volunteer will be responsible for telephoning patients and having a chat with them about attending screening appointments.
This role is ideal for someone who has some shared life experience and the ability to engage and encourage women to take part in screenings. If you have a calm and confident phone matter and want to help lesbian and bisexual women access this vital service then email firstname.lastname@example.org
