We're excited to announce that The Lesbian & Gay Foundation (The LGF) is changing its name to LGBT Foundation to reflect the diverse and inclusive work that we do with lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) communities.

This year, we’re celebrating our 15th Anniversary as a national charity with the launch of our new name: LGBT Foundation. We feel this better represents who we are, what we do and what we mean to our service users and supporters.

Since our announcement in August 2014 that we would become an LGBT inclusive charity, we have been working hard to include bisexual and trans people more visibly in our services.

Development of the new look and feel of our branding was shaped by discussions and input from our volunteers, staff team and trustees. By incorporating rainbow colours into our logo, we want to show our commitment to LGBT equality and further emphasise our belief in a fair and equal society where all LGBT people can achieve their full potential.

Established in April 2000 following the merger of Healthy Gay Manchester and Manchester Lesbian and Gay Switchboard Services, we have continued to provide a wide range of support and services.

We are passionate about the work we do with LGBT communities and this is an important step forward for the charity as we want to continue to offer support to those who need us the most.

We want our Helpline to continue to be available to you every day of the year. We want LGBT people to have a safe space where they’re comfortable and can be who they are. And most of all, we want to live in a world where LGBT people feel like their needs are being met and their voices are being heard.

The more LGBT people that get involved with our staff, volunteers and services, the more we can realistically reflect and respond to their experiences and needs. We need your help to continue to work together to ensure that LGBT people have someone to turn to in times of crisis, and even in everyday life.

Please help to share the news of our new name far and wide!
