It is with huge pride that we announce that Claudia Carvell from LGBT Foundation has been nominated for a National Diversity Award as an LGBT Positive Role Model.

Claudia is currently our Women's Programme Coordinator and soon to take on an exciting new role as Business Development Manager for our Pride in Practice programme.

Claudia is now known for leading on work with LGBT women’s communities in Manchester and beyond. Running one of the only funded programmes for lesbian and bi women in the country for the past 3 years, Claudia has worked in the remit of both “LGBT” and “women’s” issues to increase visibility and accessibility for LGBT women.

Claudia’s legacy includes key health campaigns, including around domestic abuse and mental health, launching the first National Lesbian, Bi and Tran's Women's Health Week, increasing the number of LGBT-women specific safe spaces in the city from monthly to daily, supporting women to become community leaders and deliver their own events, securing the first inclusion project for minority LGBT women in the sector – working specifically with women of colour, trans people and older women, and producing the largest piece of research into the sexual wellbeing of women who have sex with women in the country to date.
