LGBT Foundation Stands for Trans-inclusive Feminism

Following the recent focus on trans exclusionary feminist groups and protestors, LGBT Foundation wants to remind the communities we represent and support that we stand for inclusive, intersectional feminist principles. We are clear that trans women are women, trans men are men, and that non-binary people are valid.
As an organisation that supports trans and non-binary people, including through our Women’s Programme and Men’s Programme, it is our priority to ensure that at LGBT Foundation, trans people, including non-binary and gender fluid people, can access whichever gendered service they feel most comfortable accessing. Further still, we aim to ensure those services are welcoming and safe for trans people when they do.
As an organisation, we are committed to gender equality and ensuring women’s experiences, issues and spaces are furthered and maintained, through our Women’s Programme and our services as a whole. Our work for women supports unity and solidarity amongst all LGBT women and opposes any arguments that aim to divide us.
We have a zero-tolerance policy against transphobia and will not enter debates that undermine trans and non-binarypeople’s rights to define their own gender identity.
This Manchester Pride and at all times, we are offering a safe, inclusive space for all members of our LGBT communities. If you are looking for support over the weekend, you can give us a call on 0345 3 30 30 30 or drop into our building between 10am and 8pm.
