Worried about the flu? Not been able to visit your local health centre? Drop-in to our free, accessible clinic at LGBT Foundation in the afternoon of Wednesday 25th October.
At this special 3 hour clinic, the flu vaccine will be offered free of charge to people from the LGBT community who are eligible for the annual flu vaccine, such as people who are:
- Living with a long term health condition (such as chronic lung disease, asthma, diabetes, heart disease, liver or kidney disease, neurological disease)
- HIV+ or have impaired or lowered immunity
- Aged 65 years are over
- Are or may be Pregnant
- Caring for an elderly or disabled person or anyone else who wouldn't be able to get by without your help .
The vaccine itself only takes 5 minutes so if you have thought about having the flu jab and haven’t been able to make an appointment anywhere previously, the LGBT Flu Jab Clinic is for you.
Winter is fast approaching so now is a good time to take the best protection you can against an unpredictable virus that can cause unpleasant illness in many of us and severe illness among at-risk groups.
We know that many people in the LGBT community can feel reluctant to talk openly to their GP and may avoid appointments because of fear of prejudice so this is the third year that gtd healthcare’s City Health Centre has teamed up with LGBT foundation to deliver a free and confidential flu vaccination clinic for people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and considered at risk groups as mentioned above.
The LGBT Flu Clinic is a Drop-In clinic but if you would like to book an appointment at a specific time, or if you have any questions contact us: [email protected]
