AFA Equalities Board visits 2018

In August the Ambition for Ageing Equalities Board team and members of the Equalities Board carried out visits to each of the eight Local Delivery Lead partners in the eight Ambition for Ageing boroughs. Our task was to see how the partners are getting on with the challenge of reaching the most marginalised older people in their areas. We know that marginalised groups – those who experience inequality, such as different ethnic groups in some areas, disabled people, LGBT people, and others – are most at risk of social isolation.
The Equalities Board report of last year’s visits listed the groups in each borough that were not so well reached by the programme. This year we saw that some of these people are now hearing about AFA and getting involved. We have written a report with more information and we will have it ready, plus a more accessible report summary, in December. Watch this space!
