5 simple ways to raise funds for LGBT Foundation

Published: 21 May 2018 Tags: Fundraising By Daniel Walsh

21 – 25 May is National Fundraising Week. Daniel Walsh from the team highlights 5 simple ways you can look to help raise vital funds to help us deliver our life-changing services.

This week is National Fundraising Week – as a charity, supporters make our work possible, and help to improve the lives of LGBT people and ensure our life-changing services can continue to run. We want lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans communities to thrive. We want them to be healthy, we want them to be happy, we want them to be heard. You can help us be there for LGBT people who need us, by trying one of these five simple ideas:

Run like the wind – If you’re feeling sporty then why not try a sponsored run? We have places up for grabs in a number of popular races, including the Great Manchester Run (10k), Manchester Half Marathon, London Marathon and more, whatever takes your fancy! Click here to email us and find out how to get a place and what’s involved.

Work together – Get your work colleagues to join in with your efforts. Bake sales, raffles, and dress-down days can be a great way to raise money for us. Or you could form a team and enter a sponsored run or obstacle course event… Make sure to speak to your boss about match funding; some companies will match whatever you raise!

Celebrate in style - Got a big celebration coming up? Ask your guests to give a gift that makes a difference. Instead of gifts, you could ask your guests to make a donation to LGBT Foundation.

Become a supporter – Regular donations help us to plan for the future, be sustainable, and provide the best service possible. Click here to set up a Direct Debit. Rather make a one-off donation? No problem, click here to donate today.

Give us a text – Donating by text takes seconds, just text ‘LGBT £5’ (or any £ amount) to 70070! Make sure you have the bill payer’s permission (service provided by Vodafone Just Text Giving)

If you’re feeling inspired, have any questions, or want to get involved, email us at, and one of the team will get back to you soon! Or head over to to find out more.
