A couple reuniting at a train station, hoping for a future together.
The joy of being treated with respect on a night out.
Smiling when you think about your wife.
The moment a haircut finally reflects who you are.
A game of football with your mates.

These moments aren’t staged. They’re real.
They matter. And they’re for everyone.

Hope Stats Here
A national moment of hope

Hope Starts Here is a UK-wide LGBTQ+ campaign celebrating wellbeing, connection and everyday moments of joy.

From June 2026, LGBT Foundation brings hope and joy across the UK — sharing everyday moments of safety, resilience, peace and connection in LGBTQ+ lives.

Because hope doesn’t just live in big milestones.
It lives in the ordinary — in the moments we experience every day.

Why it matters now

We’re living in a time that can feel more divided than ever.
But what connects us is stronger than what separates us.

Hope Starts Here is an invitation to look again — at who we are, what we share, and the small moments that bring us together.

Stories from Across the UK

Stories from LGBTQ+ people — and from their friends, families and loved ones — will be shared:

  • On JCDecaux and Open Media billboards across the UK throughout the summer.
  • Across LGBT Foundation’s social media (@lgbtfdn)
  • At a major immersive installation at Outernet London (4 June – 4 July), one of the UK’s most visited digital exhibition spaces.
  • Through our Queer Hope and Joy editorial partner, Metro, the most-circulated newspaper in the UK.

Together, these stories show that hope is already here — in our lives, our relationships, and our communities.

Explore real LGBTQ+ stories of hope and joy below. Keep checking back as new stories are added regularly.

Hope doesn’t stop at the moment.
It’s something we carry forward — and create for each other.
