Consultation Response Session - GIDS Interim Service Specification - Open to all

28th November 2022, In person and online

Event Full Details:

LGBT Foundation is hosting three Consultation Response Sessions, for community members to respond to the Interim service specification for specialist gender dysphoria services for children and young people public consultation.

If, like us, you're concerned about what this specification means for the future of trans and non-binary healthcare, come along and have your voice heard!

These sessions will give you an opportunity to respond to the consultation and highlight concerns our communities have about this guidance. Staff will be on hand to help you interpret and respond to the questions if you need assistance, and we will be publishing written guidance to help you draft responses.

As the consultation questions are online, please bring a device such as a phone or laptop that you can use to fill in your responses. We will be providing some laptops, but these will be in limited supply.

We will be holding sessions on:

• 27th November, 3-6pm - open exclusively to trans and non-binary people to respond to the consultation in a safe and affirming space.

28th November, 5:30-8:30pm – open to all.

• 2nd December, 5:30-8:30pm – open to all.

Filling in the consultation will take 30 mins to an hour. The rest of the time is yours to use for decompression – we will have space where attendees can relax, eat pizza and ground themselves after responding to a difficult consultation. You are by no means required to attend for the full three hours and are welcome to leave whenever you would like.

Each of these events will be accessible in-person at LGBT Foundation's centre and online. Zoom invitations will be sent to those who express interest in joining online nearer to the start of the event.

For those joining us at the LGBT Foundation centre, pizza (and other refreshments) will be provided free of charge! To accompany the pizza, an online and in-person decompression and community care space will be open after attendees have completed the consultation.

To keep this event safe and supportive, you must sign up for a free ticket to gain admittance. By signing up, you agree to adhere to our Safer Spaces policy, and understand that non-compliance may result in you being asked to leave the space: https://lgbt.foundation/who-were-here-for/safer-spaces-policy
