April 2018 TransMCR - Healthy Lives

Event Full Details:

This month, come and join us for a look into how we can lead healthy lives. Whether it's information on trans healthcare you need, or trying out some mindfulness exercises, come along!

Programme:
>>12pm – Doors open

>>12:10pm-12:40pm – Speed Meet – Community Café 
Come along and meet some new people! Board games will be running throughout the day in the Community Cafe afterwards.

>>12:40pm-1:40pm – Being Trans/Non-Binary & Mental Health – Group Room
Join Sam Hope as we explore mental health, and how it ties into being trans and/or non-binary.

>>1:40pm-2:40pm – Voice-Coaching – Group Room
We will have Matilda Simon running our regular peer-support voice-coaching session. Come along and learn how to safely alter your voice.

>>1:40pm-3:30pm – Bitesize Trans Health Session (including PrEP, CliniQ, and “Getting the Most Out of Your GP”, with Q&A at the end) – Conference Room
We will be hosting CliniQ, the Sexual Health Programme (discussing PrEP), and Pride in Practice (discussing How to Get the Most Out of Your GP), with opportunity for Q&A at the end. 

>>3:30pm-4:30pm – “Trans Britain: Our Journey from the Shadows” with Christine Burns – Conference Room
Christine Burns will be discussing her brand new book, and attendees will have the opportunity to obtain a signed copy of the book (please be aware that we have limited copies of the book available).

As ever, TransMCR is designed to be a safe and supportive environment for trans people to meet other trans people, to learn about issues concerning them, and to develop new skills. The event is completely free and family, partners and trans allies are welcome!

Plus all the regular services: Community Café (2nd Floor), Quiet Space (3rd Floor), Prayer Room (3rd Floor), Changing Space (3rd Floor), and Clothing FreeShop (3rd Floor).
