Join LGBT Foundation and MMU Sport for a special day of activities designed to get you moving. Explore different ways to keep fit and improve your wellbeing in the safe, welcoming and fun environment of Manchester Metropolitan University’s Platt Lane Sports Complex.
This special event is for Manchester Met students and all LGBTQ+ adults, and has been produced by LGBT Foundation in collaboration with MMU Sport. The day will include a timetable of taster sessions showcasing a range of movement activities (sessions are for all abilities, body types and fitness levels) and a marketplace running in the afternoon where you can drop in to pick up freebies, find out more about taking on one of LGBT Foundation’s 2025 fundraising challenges and hear about MMU Sport’s physical activity offers across campus.

10.30am-11am Mindful Movement with Fiona
Nourish your mind and body with a 30 minute gentle warm up of mindful motion.
12pm-12.40pm ‘Feeling Fabulous’ Dance Workshop with Darren
Get your body moving at a dance session inspired by queer black dancefloor styles led by Ghetto Fabulous founder Darren Pritchard.
12.30pm-3.00pm LGBTQ+ Wellbeing Marketplace
Visit our marketplace stalls to pick up freebies, find out more about taking on one of LGBT Foundation’s 2025 fundraising challenges and hear about MMU Sport’s physical activity offers across campus.

12-1.30pm Wellbeing Walk in Platt Fields Park with LGBT Foundation’s Recovery Team
Pop along for some fresh air and a chat on a group walk at your own pace in the natural surroundings of Platt Fields Park, supported by Blackdog Outdoors. Limited spaces, booking required – please email recovery@lgbt.foundation to book on
12.50-1.20pm Chair Yoga with Fiona

1.30-2.00pm LGBTQ+ Women Movement Session with Fiona
Learn simple movement exercises for wellbeing in this session for LGBTQ+ women only. Limited spaces, booking required – please select ticket option at eventbrite checkout
2.10-2.40pm Trans and Non-Binary Movement Session with Fiona
Learn simple movement exercises for wellbeing in this session for trans and non-binary people only. Limited spaces, booking required – please select ticket option at Eventbrite checkout.

To ensure our space is welcoming and inclusive, we require everyone to follow our Safer Spaces Policy.
Activity locations will vary across Platt Lane Sports Complex, but are all within 2 minutes walking distance of each other. Exact meeting points and room locations for each activity will be confirmed with ticket holders nearer to the event.
Attendees for movement sessions are advised to wear or bring along comfortable clothing which allows you to move freely and flat footwear such as trainers.
Gender neutral toilets will be available throughout the event.
There are no refreshments available at this event, participants are advised to bring their own.
