You are invited to join LGBT Foundation’s Village Heroes for a big community cleanup in celebration of Earth Day!

We are the Village Heroes, a group of volunteers who meet fortnightly to litter pick and clean up in Manchester’s iconic Gay Village. We’d love to invite you to join us for a big community cleanup in celebration of Earth Day 2025!

Earth day has been recognised internationally for over 50 years, and is a day to mobilise against climate change, environmental degradation and pollution. We’ll be taking collective action by heading out into the Village together to litter pick, clean up and make the Village sparkle!

Itinerary:

2-2:30pm Welcome, information and safety briefing, get snazzy litter picking equipment

2:30-3:30pm Litter picking in the Village!

3:30-4pm Refreshments and reflections

What to wear/bring:

Comfortable, sturdy, closed-toe shoes

Comfortable, weather appropriate clothes that you can move freely in

A hat

A waterproof jacket if you have one

You can also bring gloves and litter picking equipment if you have them, otherwise LGBT Foundation will provide these.

There are gender neutral and accessible toilets at LGBT Foundation, which you will have access to throughout the event.

This event is completely FREE, please sign up on Eventbrite so we can make sure we have enough equipment and refreshments for everyone 😊

If you have any questions about the event, please contact volunteer@lgbt.foundation

We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
