APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN - Apply now to be a Trustee at LGBT Foundation

Are you ready for a new challenge, where you can make a real difference by helping one of the most exciting charities in the country to continue its life-saving, life-affirming work?

We’re recruiting new board members. At LGBT Foundation we believe in a fair and equal society where all lesbian, gay, bi and trans people can achieve their full potential. We campaign for equality and deliver a huge range of vital services to LGBT people.

We are seeking people who can help us drive forward the vision of LGBT Foundation over the coming years. We’re looking for people who are passionate about LGBT rights and want to join us on our journey of achieving equality, promoting safety and encouraging wellbeing.

LGBT Foundation is committed to improve representation from under-represented groups throughout the organisation – and we believe it’s important for the board to set an example. As well as maintaining our gender balance, we are particularly interested in encouraging BAME, bi, trans and non-binary people to apply.

We are also looking to have the right skills on the board, so if you have experience in accountancy, sales or income generation, housing or political understanding, then please consider applying. However, if you don’t have these specific skills please don’t rule yourself out.

Trustees are responsible for the governance and strategic direction of the charity, and there are certain roles and responsibilities that all trustees will be required to undertake. Being a trustee is a voluntary role, but we do pay reasonable travel and subsistence expenses. If you think you could join us and help make a real difference to the lives of LGBT people, please read the Trustee Recruitment Pack for more information and find out how to apply.

To apply, please email a cover letter (of no more than two sides of A4), outlining why you think you’re right for the board, along with an up-to-date CV and the monitoring form. Send your application to using the email header “Trustee Recruitment”.

The closing date for applications is 9th October 2019. Interviews will take place week commencing 14th October 2019, with offers made the following week with a view to new trustees being confirmed at our AGM on Saturday 26 October 2019.
