Getting Yourself Online
So, you’ve suddenly found yourself unable to meet up with friends, or attend events as you normally would. You’ve seen invites to online quizzes, cookery chats, even exercise classes that sound great, but how you actually attend them is a mystery!
Well, you’re not alone.
Connection is incredibly important to help tackle feelings of isolation and we recognise that technology can feel like a barrier for people, and for many (including us!) we’re suddenly learning about all the ways we can use it (smartphones, tablets, laptops and PCs) for more than just checking social media and sending texts.
LGBT Foundation has produced a guide to Getting Yourself Online, showing you the ropes of major videochat platforms like Zoom, HouseParty and Skype. It can be downloaded here.
We've also produced a video how-to guide for Getting Yourself Online, which can be found here.
To make it easier for you to find the platform you want, here are the time stamps to get you there quicker.
