* Seedlings Childcare Collective is a new Manchester-based group aiming to provide childcare and catering to children aged 3 years and above in self-organised spaces, political spaces, or during protests and at political events in Manchester.
As Seedlings is a new organisation, not all carers are DBS checked so parents are asked to remain on site whilst their children are in the childcare space. The childcare collective will be able to speak to children in Greek, French, German and Turkish that weekend.
Seedlings Childcare Collective believe in the practical aspect of freeing up parents to participate in politics, but also in a theoretical aspiration of breaking down barriers between children and adults spaces, as we believe in the intertwining of children with politics of the wider space. Through our activities we aspire to rediscover ways of comprehending social contradictions and differences; encouraging children initiatives, commitment and participation; being imaginative, creative and fun in less traditional ways.
