'Sex by deception' - Statement from LGBT Foundation

This week Kyran Lee, a 25 year old trans man, received a two year suspended sentence after being convicted in 2014 of one count of sexual assault by penetration on the basis of obtaining ‘sex through deception.’ This and similar cases could be a cause for concern for trans people who choose not to disclose their trans status with partners before having sex.

HIV in Greater Manchester – Men who have sex with men

New figures from the Centre for Public Health at Liverpool John Moores University have revealed that there were 531 new cases of HIV reported in Greater Manchester in 2014, an increase of 13%.

Talk and Test project awarded innovative HIV prevention fund

LGBT Foundation are working in partnership with BHA for Equality to deliver Point of Care Testing (POCT) in the new Greater Manchester Talk and Test project, supported by a multi-agency project steering group which includes membership from the local PHE Team, Greater Manchester Commissioners and Bridgewater Community Healthcare Trust.
