Popped the question? What next?

It’s Valentine's Day, and some lucky people today might just be hearing those wonderful words, “Will you marry me?”
With the historic passing of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill last year those words have extra resonance for lesbian, gay and bisexual people. The first marriages can take place in England and Wales from 29th March this year.
So what happens after your intended says “Yes”? There are lots of questions you might have. So, we’ve put together a factsheet that answers some of the most frequently asked questions, which you can download here.
A policy briefing on the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill is also available to download at lgbt.foundation/policy-research/policy-briefings/
If you’re getting married this year, we’d love to hear from you. If you’d like to appear in the pages of our community magazine outnorthwest and on our website and share your big day with us, drop an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
