NEW! Home Testing Kits for HIV
Publish Date: 12/11/2013
The new HIV home testings kits, a project funded by the MAC AIDS Fund, is a new addition to The Lesbian & Gay Foundation’s range of sexual health services for men who have sex with men.
They will enable gay and bisexual men aged 16+ living in Greater Manchester to order a home sampling kit online, or collect one from The LGF's Community Resource Centre in Manchester, which tests for HIV. This new service will be launched from Monday 11th November 2013.
The tests can be completed at home and everything is in the pack to take a small finger prick blood sample which is then posted off to the lab in the envelope provided. The results take up to 2 weeks and are returned by the individual's chosen method (text, phone call or letter).
This new scheme complements the range of sexual health testing services already offered at The Lesbian & Gay Foundation, in partnership with The Manchester Centre for Sexual Health, to men who have sex with men including weekly rapid HIV testing clinics and outreach full STI screening clinics.
