You may have seen the adverts on TV or the billboards but not sure what this is all about or why it is important to have your say but this election affects us all.

Whoever is successfully elected to be Greater Manchester’s Police & Crime Commissioner will be one of the most powerful people in the region who will  decide how we are all policed and how much of our council tax is spent on fighting crime, as well as being able to hire or fire the chief constable.

Paul Martin OBE, Chief Executive of The Lesbian & Gay Foundation will be chairing the LGBT event and all the candidates will be in attendance,

They are :

  • Tony Lloyd-Labour
  • Michael Winstanley- Conservative
  • Matt Gallagher- Liberal Democrat
  • Roy Warren- Independent
  • Steven Woolfe- UK Independence Party

The event will provide voters with an opportunity to hear the views of candidates, and also a chance for the candidates to state their priorities if they were to be successful. There will also be plenty of time for those in attendance to submit their questions to the candidates directly.

This will be your chance to put your questions to the future Police & Crime Commissioner for Greater Manchester. Even if you are unsure about if you are even going to vote, come along to this free event and see what this means for the future policing of our communities.
