Getting Hitched, Making History

The LGF cordially invite you to an evening of film and discussion around marriage equality as we celebrate National LGBT History Month in February! Taking place on Monday 18th February 7pm at The LGF.

The Devotion Project

Tissues at the ready as we will be screening Tony Osso's award winning short film series 'The Devotion Project' about same-sex relationships and rainbow families. These films will entertain, move and provoke and you will have an opportunity to hear from the filmmaker at this event. For more information on the project like their facebook page  or visit their website.

An Exciting Panel of Guests

We also have a panel of special guests which include Prof. Brian Heaphy from Manchester University, who is currently undertaking a research project around the impact that entering civil partnership had on the relationship of same-sex couples, their friends and family.

Other panel members include Rev. Hayley Matthews, a Chaplain from Media City and Rev. Jane Barraclough from The Unitarian Church who performed the first religious civil partnership in Manchester.

Also joining us are John and Allen to share their experiences of being the first male couple to have a civil partnership in a religious premises.

Join us!

Attendees will have the change to contribute thoughts and opinions as we open the floor to a wider discussion of marriage equality and the dynamics of same-sex relationships across time.

This event is completely free to attend and we will be providing food and refreshments.

Join us at this exciting junction in LGB history and throw some confetti on the issue of equal marriage!
