We’re recruiting new board members. At LGBT Foundation we believe in a fair and equal society where all lesbian, gay, bi and trans people can achieve their full potential. We campaign for equality and deliver a huge range of vital services to LGBT people.
We are seeking people who can help us drive forward the vision of LGBT Foundation over the coming years. We have three priorities – achieving equality, promoting safety and encouraging wellbeing. If you think you can help us on this journey, then please think about applying to join our board of trustees.
We’re particularly interested in hearing from people who have:
- Business and commercial experience
- Legal experience
- Fundraising/income generation experience.
We are also especially interested in recruiting Trustees from trans, bi and black and minority ethnic communities.
Trustees are responsible for the governance and strategic direction of the charity, and there are certain roles and responsibilities that all trustees will be required to undertake. Please read the trustee recruitment pack for more information.
Being a trustee is a voluntary role, but we do pay reasonable travel and subsistence expenses. If you think you could join us and help make a real difference to the lives of LGBT people, please download the attached letter from our chair, Smyth Harper, which has details on how to apply, and the application pack which has detailed information about LGBT Foundation and what is expected of trustees.
The closing date for applications is 5pm on Monday 9 October 2017. Interviews will take place that week, with offers made the following week with a view to new trustees joining at the next board meeting on Saturday 21 October.
For more information, or an informal chat, please contact Smyth on firstname.lastname@example.org or 07702 101744.
