Volunteering as a counsellor

 

Qualified Counsellors

We welcome applications from qualified counsellors to join our multidisciplinary team of volunteer Counsellors, Psychotherapists, Counselling Psychologists, Creative Therapists and Relationship Counsellors. The service offers brief counselling of between six and twelve sessions with the possibility of further sessions after a breathing period of 3 months. Volunteers can expect to enrich their skills working with a diverse group of LGBT clients bringing a wide variety of complex issues. Benefits include city centre location, daytime and evening appointments, contributions towards supervision costs and travel expenses, peer support and supervision meetings, excellent package of personal development opportunities.

Trainee Counsellors

Our counselling service is a popular placement choice for many students across the region. We have filled all of our placement spaces and our next recruitment event for trainee counsellors will take place between December 2015/January 2016.

We only offer placements to student counsellors that are undertaking:

- BACP (or other accrediting body) counselling course

- In the second or third year of a Diploma, BA or MA.
