outnorthwest issue 119

Where has the year gone? Here we are with the final edition of ONW of 2013. And of course, that means the traditional World AIDS Day issue. Our 14th.

In that time, HIV has not disappeared. It might be easier to manage, and people are living longer, but that’s no reason for complacency. It’s more important than ever to know your HIV status, and the good news is it’s easier than EVER to get tested. You can even be tested and receive your results in your lunch hour!

The LGF offers free, friendly and safe clinical services every single week, as well as sexual health clinics, HIV testing and don’t forget you can also call our helpline, 10am to 10pm every day on 0845 3 30 30 30.

The LGF outreach clinic runs every Tuesday at one of 3 locations around Manchester every month and offers the chance to get a full sexual health check up. Testing includes; Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Syphilis, HIV and Hepatitis B. Current dates are below. And you don’t even have to make an appointment. The LGF rapid HIV testing clinic runs every Wednesday from 12pm - 2pm at The LGF. No appointment necessary. Last appointment is 1.30pm so make sure to arrive early!

Why not start the new year knowing your status?

Finally, everyone at The Lesbian & Gay Foundation would like to wish you a safe and happy festive season. Don’t forget if you need to talk to anyone, you can call our Helpline on 0845 3 30 30 30.
