IDVA Service
Our Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) service provides support to LGBTQ+ people currently at high risk of abuse from partner(s), ex-partner(s) or family members. We also support LGBTQ+ people who are experiencing, or are at risk of honour- based violence and abuse (HBVA), forced marriage, stalking and coercive controlling behaviours.
We provide a safe environment where you can discuss the issues you have been experiencing. The IDVA Service offers:
- Crisis intervention
- Advocacy support
- Welfare/benefits and housing advice
- Safety planning
- Emotional support
- Healing support
This service is available to all people identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or trans, and anyone falling under the umbrella term of LGBT* such as queer, intersex, pansexual, non-binary or gender fluid, including those questioning their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.
The service is available for LGBTQ+ people who are living within the Greater Manchester area. You must be aged 16+ to access this service.
