LGBT Foundation Trans Advisory Panel- October 2015

This group is made up of representatives from a range of voluntary and charitable trans groups who offer services and support to the Greater Manchester trans community. The panel was established in 2014 as part of a period of ongoing consultation with the trans community as The Lesbian & Gay Foundation prepared to change our name to LGBT Foundation. Engagement with the group informed our bid to the Big Lottery’s Reaching Communities fund in 2015, and the group continues to be a major contributing factor in the shaping of our Trans Programme work to date.

The panel meets monthly and offers feedback, advice and guidance to on the work of LGBT Foundation’s Trans Programme. Engagement with the panel helps us to ensure all our services are fully trans inclusive and successfully reaching and responding to the needs of the trans community. Members of the panel play an integral part in ensuring our work is shaped led by trans voices.

Our monthly meetings also provide a space for individuals to network and catch up on the various groups’ work and seeks to promote partnership and joined up working where ever possible.
