Trans Day of Visibility
What is Trans Day of Visibility?
International Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV) is an annual event occurring on March 31st each year. The day is dedicated to celebrating trans people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by trans people worldwide. The holiday was founded to celebrate trans people following the frustration from members of the trans community that the only well-known trans-centered event each year was the Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) which is a time to mourn the loss of transgender people to hate crimes. Trans Day of Visibility is a time to focus on the positive elements of trans people’s lives.
